Alexander "Alex" Turner Jr.

<p class="p1">Alexander "Alex" Turner Jr., of Anna, and formerly of Peekskill, New York, died at 8:18 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, attended by his wife at home.</p><p class="p1">He was born on May 28, 1957 in White Plains, New York, the son of Alexander and Moana Hose Turner.</p><p class="p1">He married his childhood sweetheart, Janet Sue Powles, on Sept. 21, 1980.</p><p class="p1">He was of the Catholic faith. He worked as a stationary engineer for the Archdiocese of New York. He enjoyed black powder guns, lapidary work and overall just making "Something out of nothing."</p><p class="p1">Survivors include his wife, Janet Sue Turner of Anna; a son, Alexander (Amber) Turner III of Jonesboro; a daughter, Kalanani (Charles Cutrell) Turner of Lick Creek; grandsons Alexander Rudolph "Joseph" Turner IV and Matthew Alan Turner, both of Jonesboro; and close friends, Jimmy Araneo of New York and Alan Stuck of Makanda.</p><p class="p1">He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.</p><p class="p1">A Celebration of Life was held Friday, Feb. 13, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home Anna-Jonesboro.</p><p class="p1">Memorials can be made to the family.</p><p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">To leave online condolences, visit www.crainsonline.com.</p><p class="p1" style="text-align: center;">Crain Funeral Home Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.</p>
