Arts center planning salute to veterans, active duty personnel
<p class="p1">On Oct. 13, the U.S. Navy celebrated its 240th birthday.</p><p class="p1">On Monday, Nov. 2, the Shawnee Hills Arts Council plans to salute America’s veterans and active duty service men and women.</p><p class="p1">The salute is set for 6 p.m. at the Anna Arts Center, which is located at 117 W. Davie St. in Anna.</p><p class="p1">The event is free for veterans and all active duty military personnel.</p><p class="p1">All others are asked to donate $10 for a beef brisket dinner with all of the trimmings catered by Alice Sterns of Alto Pass Angus & Eggs. </p><p class="p1">Tickets are on sale Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the arts center or call Lee at 904-625-1109 or email vabchlee@gmail.com for reservations. </p><p class="p1">Organizers ask that reservations be made no later than Oct. 27.</p><p class="p1">Everyone is invited to attend the event and share their stories. </p><p class="p1">As part of the celebration, the arts center would like to display pictures and stories of veterans and active duty members. </p><p class="p1">Pictures and information about veterans or active duty service members can be brought to the arts center Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or on Nov. 2.</p>
