Carl Eugene “Gene” Parrott

Carl Eugene Gene Parrott, 79, of Titus, Ala., and formerly of Mounds, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at his home in Titus, Ala.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1930, in Pulaski, the son of Gene Parrott and Lydia Temke Parrott Popp.

Mr. Parrott is survived by two children, Vickie and husband Grover Mays of Anna and Karen and husband Terry Trammel of Cobden; one brother, Jerry Parrott of Mounds; two sisters, Phyllis Hamaway of Cummings, Ga., and Imogene Dickerson of Cairo; six grandchildren, Grover Gene Mays, Adam Mays, Mika Sadler, Brad Trammel, Lucas Trammel and Corey Trammel; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one sister, Edith Louise Parrott.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.   

Memorial services for Mr. Parrott were at 7 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the Anna Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Richard Keeley officiating. Interment will be private in the Big Creek Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Anna Church of the Nazarene.
