Carmen Woodard

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Carmen Woodard, 85, of Chandler, AZ, formerly of Dongola, passed away suddenly on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2011.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">She was born July 21, 1926 at Hardin, IL, the daughter of Karl and Rachel Hagen Simon.<span style=""> </span> She was married on Sept. 30, 1950 to Carl Woodard.<span style=""> </span> He preceded her in death June 5, 1974.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler, AZ.<span style=""> </span> Carmen had worked as the secretary at Arlie Woodard & Sons in Dongola, then as a teller and bookkeeper at First State Bank of Dongola.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Survivors include two daughters, Patricia (Bob) Davidson of Chandler, Pamela Woodard (Gary) George of Conway, AR; grandson, Greg (Andrea) Davidson of Parker, CO; granddaughter, Laura (Daniel) Zehring of Tempe, AZ; four great grandchildren, Mark, Aedyn, and Lois Davidson, and Eleanor Zehring; brother, Karl Jr. (Nona) Simon of Hardin, IL; sisters-in-law, Joyce Simon of Hardin, IL and Mary Ann Woodard of Anna; nieces, other relatives and friends.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">Visitation for Mrs. Carmen Woodard will be Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.<span style=""> </span> Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the American Legion Cemetery.</span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;"> </span></strong></p>

<p style="margin-left: 0.5in;" class="MsoNormal"><strong><span style="font-size: 16pt;">In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North American Mission Board (SBC) or the Rotary Foundation, PolioPlus Fund.</span></strong></p>
