Cobden defeats A-J 47-31

Ana Duda netted 17 points, including four 3-pointers, to power Cobden to a 47-31 win over Anna-Jonesboro Saturday, Dec. 12.

The game was played as part of the Cobden Shootout tournament, which featured boys’ and girls’ basketball games.

Taylor Orsburn and Katelyn Wiggs added 8 points apiece for the Appleknockers. Kayla Quertermous had 6 points and Jordyn Grey, Mara Hackethal, Mariah Piper and Bekah Russell 2 apiece.

Emma Basler and Jesse Stone had 10 points apiece to lead the Lady Wildcats. Chandra Parr added 5 points and Rachel Hayden, Destiny Dillow and Valerie Pender 2 each.

Cobden led 11-7 after one quarter. A-J fought back for a 18-18 tie at the half. The Appleknockers made a 17-8 run in the third quarter to build a 35-26 lead going into the final period.
