Cobden, Dongola fall in SEC

Cobden and Dongola lost in first-round action at the South Egyptian conference high school boys’ basketball tournament held at Century Tuesday, Jan.19.

Following are game sumaries:

Egyptian 74, Cobden 42: Robby Lehr scored 18 points to lead the Appleknockers.

Alex Sweitzer added 10 points, Steve Draper 8 and Bo Gearhart 6.

The Pharoahs built a 20-6 first quarter lead and were ahead 36-22 at the half.

Goreville 81, Dongola 42: Chris Cohin, Tanner Latham and Tyler Eddleman had 9 points apiece to lead the Demons in the loss. Darin Gibson added 8 points and Jordan Eads 3.

The Blackcats led 28-12 at the end of one quarter and 49-23 at the half.
