ColorFest pageant held in Jonesboro

Union County ColorFest pageants were presented Saturday, Oct. 10, in the gymnasium at Jonesboro Grade School.

Twenty-two girls from the area participated in the 2009 pageants.

Each participant received a trophy and a goody bag.

The first runners-up received a $50 savings bond donated by Anna-Jonesboro National Bank.

The overall winners received a gift basket and $300 in savings bonds.

The 2009 Union County Little Miss ColorFest winner (for girls ages 5 and 6) was Jacqueline Paige Wilkins. She is the daughter of David and Liz Wilkins of Jonesboro.

The Union County Miss ColorFest winner (for girls ages 7 to 10) was Addison Paige Osman, the daughter of Eric and Janice Osman of Anna.

The 2008 Union County Little Miss ColorFest, Olivia Bowen of Jonesboro, was in attendance and helped to present trophies and prizes.

Two acts presented entertainment during the pageants.

A dance group from Studio 84 in Murphysboro performed.

Members of the dance group which performed were Meghan Smith, Hannah Fuller, Mandy Mason and Ashley Oliver.

All five of the girls are in the 5th grade at Jonesboro Grade School. They performed a hip hop dance number.

The second act was Laramie Lentz of Anna, who sang "Cowboy Casanova" by Carrie Underwood.

Organizers of this year's Union County ColorFest pageants voiced appreciation to event sponsors and volunteers for their support.
