Connie A. Young

Connie A. Young, 74, of Navarre, Fla., and formerly of Dongola, died at 9:31 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at West Florida Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Fla.

She was born on Jan. 3, 1937, in Wetaug, the daughter of Harley and Edna Staudacher Hight.

She married Alvin Junior Young. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1986.

She liked country and western line dancing.

She is survived by her three sons, Gary (Ju-Lee) Young of Oveido, Fla., Danny (Jana) Young of Opelika, Ala., and Terry (Susan) Young of Navarre, Fla.; five grandchildren, Kyle, Heather, Alexia, Marissa and Zoey; two sisters, Helen Miller of Wetaug and Joyce Fuiten of Sherman; two brothers, Larry (Rosemary) Hight of Anna and Dwight (Iris) Hight of Millstadt; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two grandchildren, Bekki Young and Katie Young.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Brent Miller officiating. Interment was in the Mound City National Cemetery.
