Deloris Rider Mowell
Dongola, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at City Care Center in Anna.
She was born on July 4, 1929, in Union County, the daughter of Ralph Owen and Vesta Fisher Rider.
She married Charles O. Peterson. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1972. On July 3, 1982, she married Amos Mowell. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2003.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dongola. She had worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth (Julie) Rider of Mathis, Texas; three grandsons, Brandon Peterson of Alpena, Mich., Chris Rider of Surry, British Columbia, Canada, and Gary (Dawn) Rider of Anna; one great-grandson, Braden Rider of Anna; one great-granddaughter, Brynn Rider of Anna; one step-great-grandson, Ryley Sullivan of Anna; eight sisters, Scheron Gardner of Jonesboro, Violet Ulrich of Cape Girardeau, Joyce Inman and Rose Horn of Grand Chain, Earline Covill of Scott, Mich., Marylee Allen of Allagan, Mich., Lilly Houseman of Anna and Fern Larry of Olmsted; two brothers, Sam Rider and Ernest Rider, both of Dongola; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; one son, Charles Ray Peterson on Feb. 15, 2006; two brothers, Lowell and Melvin Rider; and one sister, Elsie Elliott.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 18, at First Baptist Church in Dongola with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Wetaug.

Crain Funeral Home in Dongola was in charge of arrangements.
