Early open audition for single role in 'The Taste of Sunrise'

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Stage Company has announced early open auditions for the production "The Taste of Sunrise," by Suzan Zeder and directed by Kevin Purcell.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Auditions will be held on January 5, at 6:30 p.m. Call backs are January 6, at 6:30 p.m. The show is scheduled to run July 15-17 and 22-24.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Auditions will be held at the Varsity Center for the Arts, located at 418 South Illinois Ave. in Carbondale.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">There is one role available at this time for the role of Maisie, a girl age 15-18.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">This single role is being cast now because it requires learning American Sign Language (ASL) as will as Sim-Con, the act of simultaneously communicating in both English and ASL.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The person cast in this role will receive extensive coaching from Pam Walker, SIU ASL Instructor.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">No preparation is necessary.
