Event honors 100-year businesses in region

Business leaders from throughout the region packed the atrium at Shawnee Community College today for the first "Lunch with the Best" event where a number of businesses that are 100 years old or older were honored.

<p class="style11">The event was sponsored by the college and Reppert Publications; Dr. Larry Peterson, the college's president, and Jerry Reppert, owner of Reppert Publications, co-chaired organizing the event.

<p class="style11">In addition today, David Blanchette, communications director for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum, spoke to the crowd about the museum.
