Eye care business opens at new location in Anna

The newly relocated Moreland EyeCare in Anna opened for business June 22.

The business is located in a new facility which was built just off new U.S. Route 51 in north Anna.

The new facility has many improvements, including added space and more accommodating parking.

New hours of business are from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

Dr. Amber R. Moreland, the owner of Moreland EyeCare, chose to open a local business because she grew up in the Union County area.

“I wanted to move back to serve the local community. It feels like home,” she said.

Her interest in optometry began at an early age due to vision problems and personal childhood experiences.

She attended Cobden High School and later graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor degree in physiology.

She earned her doctorate at the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Ind.

In 2005, Dr. Moreland began working at the former Tilley Eye Center in <a href="http://Anna.In">Anna.In</a> 2007, she purchased the business and opened Moreland EyeCare at the same location.

Moreland EyeCare has been updated and expanded with its move to the new location at 100 Peach Ridge Ln.

The new facility is equipped with new and innovative optical equipment, as well as additional examination rooms and an expanded frame selection.

Moreland EyeCare offers comprehensive eye health exams, glasses and contact lenses, treatment of glaucoma, emergency eye care, and much more.

Dr. Moreland said she loves working with patients of all ages, and desires to create a family-friendly atmosphere for professional eye care. She said she appreciates the continued support of the community since 2005.
