Farm trucking rules seminar scheduled in Jonesboro

Two recently implemented federal trucking rules affect the vast majority of grain farmers in Illinois.

At least two more rules will go into effect in 2009 that farmers need to understand.

The Union County Farm Bureau is planning to host an On-the-Road Seminar which will focus on motor vehicle law issues that affect farmers.

The seminar is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, and will be at the Union County Farm Bureau building at 104 W. Broad St. in Jonesboro.

The seminar will focus on new trucking rules which are important to farmers. A recap of key fundamentals will be presented.

The seminar will be presented by Kevin Rund. For 28 years, Rund has specialized in farm transportation issues for the Illinois Farm Bureau.

Rund will provide take-home materials.
