Fatal car accident in Pulaski County

A fatal car accident in Pulaski County took the lives of two men, according to Illinois State Police.

Mike Holmes, 43, of Creal Springs, Illinois was traveling south on Route 37, 1/4 of a mile from Sunset Road, and crossed into the north bound lane, colliding head one with Warren McKinney, 61, of Mounds, who was traveling north on Route 37.

McKinney was pronounced dead on scene. Holmes was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result from the injuries sustained from the crash.

The investigation continues.
