Forby issues budget warning

State Sen. Gary Forby, D-Benton, is running a full-page ad in area newspapers to warn Southern Illinois residents of the impact the “slash and burn” budget will have on the region if new state funding is not created.

“Senior citizens and the low income will be hit the hardest,” Forby said.

Forby’s ad is headlined "a storm is coming." He said the destruction left by the “storm” will leave a path of destruction in every part of Southern Illinois, affecting persons trying to afford college, along with adversely affecting public schools, healthcare, and sadly, he said, area veterans.
