Four men charged with church burglaries

<p class="p1">Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds on Feb. 10 reported that four men have been charged in connection with church burglaries which occurred in Union County in December 2014 and January of this year.</p><p class="p1">Garret L. Green, 21, of Creal Springs, has been indicted by the Union County grand jury on two counts of burglary, both Class 1 felonies, and two counts of theft, both Class 4 felonies.  </p><p class="p1">A judge set Green's bail at $50,000, with 10 percent bond to apply.</p><p class="p1">Aaron J. Henderson, 22,  of Marion, has been indicted by the grand jury on four  counts of burglary, all Class 1 felonies, one count of theft; a Class 2 felony; and one count of theft, a Class 4 felony.  </p><p class="p1">A judge set Henderson's bail at $75,000, with 10 percent bond to apply.</p><p class="p1">Kaleb S. Terry, 20, of Marion, has been indicted by the grand jury on six  counts of burglary, all Class 1 felonies; one count of theft, a Class 2 felony; and three counts of theft, all Class 4 felonies.  </p><p class="p1">A judge set Terry's bail at $100,000, with 10 percent bond to apply.</p><p class="p1">George B.K. Smith, 22, of Herrin, has been indicted by the grand jury on six  counts of burglary, all Class 1 felonies; one count of theft, a Class 2 felony; and three counts of theft, all Class 4 felonies.  </p><p class="p1">A judge set Smith's bail at $100,000, with 10 percent bond to apply.</p><p class="p1">The four men have been charged in with connection the alleged burglaries of numerous churches in Union County, including Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro, First Lutheran Church in Dongola, and United Missionary Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Ebenezer Hall Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Saratoga Church in rural Union County.  </p><p class="p1">The investigation was conducted by the Union County Sheriff’s Office, the Anna Police Department and the Marion Police Department.  </p><p class="p1">The Marion Police Department apprehended the men in January.  </p><p class="p1">All four men are being held at the Williamson County Jail in Marion.</p>
