Gene Earl Jobe
<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;">Mr. Gene Earl Jobe, age 69 of rural Cobden, died at 10:25 am Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.<span style=""> </span> He was born on January 12, 1942 in Murphysboro, the son of Kenneth and Susan Jones Jobe.</span></strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style=""> </span> Gene was married to Shirley Dillow on July 21, 1960 in Herrin, IL.<span style=""> </span> She preceded him in death on December 12, 2001.</span></strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style=""> </span> Gene Earl is survived by two sisters, Sue Peters of Benton and Sandra (Gene) Pikula of Cherry, IL; one brother, Ken (Doris) Jobe of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces; nephews, other relatives, friends and his many special friends at the Dialysis Center in Carbondale.<span style=""> </span> He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Shirley and his very special friend, Doris Howell.</span></strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style=""> </span> He was of the Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church in Grand Tower.<span style=""> </span> He was a truck driver and was retired from the Transcraft Corporation in Anna.<span style=""> </span> His hobbies included rebuilding and restoring tractors and antique trucks.<span style=""> </span> He also loved to compete in regional tractor pulls and driving his trucks in many different parades.<span style=""> </span></span></strong></p>
<p style="text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;">He was honored on WSIL-TV as the Unsung Hero for his contributions at the Dialysis Center in Carbondale.<span style=""> </span> Gene and his wife Shirley had been patients there for a number of years.</span></strong></p>
<p style="text-indent: 0.5in; line-height: 150%;" class="MsoNormal"><strong style=""><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 150%;"><span style=""> </span> Funeral services for Mr. Gene Earl Jobe will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Carl Dillow and Rev. Paul Sadler officiating.<span style=""> </span> Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery.<span style=""> </span> Friends may call at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna from 5 until 8:00 pm on Monday, November 21, 2011.<span style=""> </span> Memorial contributions may be made to the Fresenius Dialysis Center or to the First Baptist Church in Grand Tower.<span style=""> </span> Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.</span></strong></p>
