Geraldine ‘Gerry’ Owen

Geraldine “Gerry” Owen of Carbondale died at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was born in Thompsonville, the daughter of Charles and Lois Rotrammel Isaacs.

She married Charles Owen on Dec. 14, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. Mr. Owen died on Feb. 6, 2010.

She worked at Owens Brother Heating and Air.

Survivors include Harriet and Tom Davis of Harrisburg, Charles E. Owen III and Mary Owen of Columbus, Ohio, and Michael K. Owen of Carbondale; grandchildren Julie and Brendan Geoghan of Cumming, Ga., Charles Owen III of Columbus, Ga., Melissa Potrikus of Alexandria Bay, N.Y., Teresa, Tim and Brandon of Pittsburg, Tiffany and Marquis Howard of Baumholder, Germany, Jason Owen of Honolulu, Hawaii; great-great-grandchildren Riley, Erin and Connor Geoghan of Cumming, Ga., Mackenzie Brandon of Pittsburg, and Dylan Howard of Baumholder, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Owen Jr.; a granddaughter, Niki Lynn Owen; a grandson, Jay Davis; a sister, Faye Steyer; and a brother, Lee Isaacs.

She was a member of University Baptist Church in Carbondale. She was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 3, at University Baptist Church in Carbondale. The Rev. John Annable officiated. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale.

Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
