Honoring Old Glory

A special ceremony was held Monday evening at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 near Anna.

The VFW post hosted a flag retiring ceremony. The ceremony was held to properly retire American flags which had reached the point that they can no longer be displayed.

Fittingly, the ceremony took place on Flag Day.

The local VFW post is to be commended for conducting this special ceremony, which was open to the public.

Monday evening's ceremony was one of the many ways in which Post 3455 serves the Union County community. We commend the post for its continued service to Union County.
