Honoring our veterans

As a community and as a nation, we joined together on Friday, November 11, to honor the brave men and women who have served in the nation's armed forces.
On the day before, Jonesboro School paid tribute to veterans with a special program. Over the weekend, those who served during the Korean War were honored during a ceremony held at the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
And on Friday, a Union County tradition continued when the 2011 Veterans Day parade was held in Anna. The parade once again was sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of Anna.
As a community and a nation, we must all remember the sacrifices of those who have served. Again, we say thank you to all of our veterans.
