Illinois State Police conduct special enforcement patrols

Illinois State Police 22 conducted several special traffic enforcement efforts during October.

District 22 has its headquarters at Ullin. Union County is in the district.

The state police released the following enforcement figures from occupant restraint enforcement patrols which were conducted Oct. 24:

Safety belt violations, 26. Total citations, 35. Total warnings, 31.

Roadside safety checks were held during the late evening hours of Oct. 15 and the early morning hours of Oct. 16. The following results were reported:

Occupant restraint offenses, 2. Driving under the influence arrests, 4. Other alcohol/drug arrests, 12. Total citations/arrests, 20. Total written warnings, 6.

An alcohol counter-measure enforcement patrol was conducted Oct. 7. The following results were reported:

Driving under the influence arrests, 3. Drug- and alcohol-related arrests, 5. Speeding citations, 1. Occupant restraint citations, 2. Total citations, 13. Total written warnings, 34.
