A-J football players earn All-South honors

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School had two football players selected to the Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South prep football team.

The Wildcats’ Josiah Miller and Taylor Fitzgerald were each named to the squad.

Miller, a 6-foot-3, 350 pound  senior, was selected as an offensive lineman. He also won honors on the Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi Division all-conference  team as a lineman.

Fitzgerald, a senior, was selected as a running back. He had 154 carries for 945 yards rushing and scored 7 touchdowns. He was also a member of the  all-conference team as a running back.

The Wildcats finished the season at 6-4, after losing in the first round of the playoffs.
