Job well done

To the editor,

A few weeks ago, a picture appeared in The Gazette-Democrat that made me realize just how lucky we are to have Geof Skinner in Union County.

As editor of The Gazette-Democrat, Geof wears many hats; one I appreciate the most is his ability to capture scenes in Southern Illinois that most of us would not even begin to "see."

You can spot Geof at all Union County newsworthy events, plus capturing the beauty of the seasons with his trusty camera.

Through the years, I have appreciated this gift he has for all of us to enjoy, but never took the time to tell him. Guess I thought he'd just know.

So, just to make sure Geof knows we appreciate him, why not tell him when you see him at work that you appreciate the beauty and artistry he weaves with his eyes and camera.

The picture I was referring to was Geof's picture of Stinson Memorial Library wreathed in dogwood. Way to go Geof.
