Jonesboro boys' team splits in recent basketball action
The Jonesboro School junior high boys' basketball team split in recent action.
Following are game summaries:
Goreville 47, Jonesboro 27: Tyler Vaughn scored 7 points to lead host Jonesboro in the loss Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Ben McFarland added 6 points for Jonesboro. Damian Reed and Noah Fuller had 4 points apiece and Dakota Easterly and Garrett Nadeau 3 each.
Zane DeWitt scored 11 points to lead Jonesboro to a 27-2 win over Goreville in the junior varsity game.
Nadeau and Fuller added 6 points apiece and Garrett Cook and Derek Harvell 2 each.
Jonesboro 47, Meridian 43: Vaughn had 16 points to lead host Jonesboro to the overtime win Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Fuller added 10 points, Harvell 8, Reed 5, Trey Pender 4, Nadeau 3 and DeWitt 1.
Fuller scored 12 points to lead Jonesboro to a 35-24 win over Meridian in the junior varsity game.
Nadeau added 9 points, DeWitt 6 and Issac Pender and Harvell 4 apiece.
Jonesboro’s varsity is 3-2 and the junior varsity is 5-0.
