Jonesboro City Council meets May 18

Jonesboro City Council met in a lengthy regular session Monday night, May 18.

Representatives from the Anna-Jonesboro Water Commission shared an update with Jonesboro officials on plans which are being reviewed regarding the future of the commission’s main water plant.

Two residents discussed a proposal with city officials to have a citywide yard sale day.

Plans were announced for installation of a new street light. The light will be installed at the intersection of Ashlar Street and Illinois Route 127.

Maintenance and repair work of the fountain on the Jonesboro Square was discussed. Paint is to be removed and a crack fixed.

Numerous other reports were presented.
