Jonesboro man sentenced to serve total of 10 years

<p class="p1">Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds reported Dec. 10 that Bryon W. Turner, 34, of rural Jonesboro, has been sentenced to a total of 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.</p><p class="p1">Turner was sentenced after he pleaded guilty in two cases.</p><p class="p1">Turner was sentenced to six years after he pleaded guilty to one count of home invasion, which is a Class X felony.</p><p class="p1">He also was sentenced to four years on one count of unlawful participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, which is a Class 1 felony. The sentences will run consecutively.</p><p class="p1">Turner was arrested for home invasion in October. He was arrested after an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's Office showed that he had forcibly entered a Jonesboro residence during the early morning hours of Oct. 28 and repeatedly punched an occupant of the residence in the face.</p><p class="p1">Turner previously had been charged with methamphetamine manufacturing in July following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's Office and the Union County Drug Task Force.</p><p class="p2"> </p>
