Lady ‘Cats 47, Vienna 41

Anna-Jonesboro built an early lead on its way to a 47-41 win over host Vienna in non-conference high school girls’ basketball action Saturday, Dec. 5.

A-J was ahead 13-8 after one quarter and 21-16 at the half. The Lady Wildcats led 31-29 going into the final period. A-J outscored the Lady Eagles 16-12 in the final stanza to pull out the win.

Chandra Parr had 16 points to lead A-J. Jesse Stone added 11 points, Emma Basler 7, Destiny Dillow 6, Valerie Pender 4 and Rachel Hayden 3.

A-J, which improved to 2-4, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at home against West Frankfort.
