Lick Creek boys win second straight title

The Lick Creek School junior high boys’ basketball team won its own invitational tournament for the second consecutive year. The invitational was played in October.

Following are game summaries

Lick Creek 60, Dongola 43: Zach Parr scored 33 points to lead Lick Creek to the win in the championship game Oct. 21.

Hunter Garver added 13 points for Lick Creek. Jake Parr followed with 6 points, Ethan Friebel 5 and Logan Mattingly 3.

Kyle Cox scored 19 points to lead Dongola.

Lick Creek 49, Cobden 28: Zach Parr led the way for Lick Creek with 32 points on Oct. 20.

Garver added 7 points, Mattingly 6 and Garrett Barringer 4.

Jacob Furlow had 8 points to lead Cobden. J.T. Moore added 5 points.

Lick Creek 85, Christ Lutheran (Neunert) 41: Zach Parr had 41 points to lead Lick Creek to the win in the opening game of the tournament on Oct. 18.

Garver added 18 points, followed by Mattingly 9, Allen Donoho 7, Friebel and Kylen Grant 4 each and Jake Parr 2.

All tournament team selections were Lick Creek’s Hunter Garver and Zach Parr. From Dongola: Kyle Cox and Dillon Gilliland and from Cobden: Logan Spalt and J.T. Moore.
