Make your vote count

On April 5, we as voters again have the opportunity to place a vote to elect our representatives in government.

For many, apparently voting is an annoyance and don’t bother for one reason or another.

You have heard it said, “if they don’t vote then they shouldn’t complain," but some do anyway.

Perhaps if we looked at voting as the opportunity to put persons of character and honestly in office and not be “locked-in” by a party, we could get the right people in office.

Our city, schools and other entities that will be filled with the best people can only come from voters being honest with themselves.

Let’s vote for the individual that will best serve our community and not the “good-ole-boy” or girl as has been done in times past.

Read the information of the candidates in last week’s issue of The Gazette-Democrat and be informed. Call them if you have questions.

The turnout in past elections has been poor, maybe 25 percent of the eligible voters.

Let’s overwhelm the system and swamp the polling places. Make your vote count.
