Manus helps team to 2nd in national golf tournament
Mike Manus of Anna helped lead his Lindenwood University golf team to a second place finish in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament.
Manus shot 79-84 as Lindenwood finished second to Rochester College in the national event held at Penn State University’s Blue Course.
The finish ends a successful year for the first season of golf at Lindenwood. The team started with a first place finish at St. Louis Country Club and just prior to the nationals finished fourth in the Illinois Collegiate Invitational. Manus turned in one of the team’s top scores in that event with a 157.
Manus, 19, graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 2009 and is a sophomore at Lindenwood.
While playing golf at A-J he was two time conference champion and won the IHSA regional championship his junior year. He is son of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Manus of Anna.
