Meridian School construction project underway

<p class="p1">Work is moving forward on a new school building in an area community.</p><p class="p1">The construction work is underway at Meridian Elementary and Junior High School in Mounds.</p><p class="p1">The new addition is designed to replace a building which was condemned due to toxic mold more than two years ago. </p><p class="p1">The completed construction project, which measures just shy of 36,000 square feet, will add more than a dozen new classrooms, offices and a new gym to the school.            </p><p class="p1">“The addition is exciting. It brings our facilities to the same level or higher to those schools around us. We thank Baysinger Architects for its design and service which is making this construction possible," Meridian School District superintendent Spencer Byrd said.</p><p class="p1">Those involved with the $7 million project say that it has started a sense of regeneration and a lot of positive spirit in the school district.</p><p class="p1">The project is due to be completed in time for the 2016-2017 school year.                     </p><p class="p2"> </p><p class="p2"> </p><p class="p2">                                                   </p>
