Anna Arts Center hosting several November events

The Shawnee Hills Arts Council Anna Arts Center is planning to host several events during November.

The arts center is located at 125 W. Davie  St. in Anna. 

Auditions: Auditions were scheduled to begin Wednesday, Nov. 14, and continue on Thursday, today, for a show which will celebrate great women.

The auditions are planned from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Roles featuring a variety of women will be available.

Those who want to audition are asked to bring something to read for a minute and to be prepared to do a cold read.

The performance is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13.

“Las Posadas”: “Las Posadas, The Christmas Story,” is set for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Admission is free.

“Las Posadas” is a play which celebrates Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus. A live nativity scene is planned at the end.

A reception will follow the presentation.

Art Show: An art show for students in 4th through 8th grades and high school is planned Nov. 18-24. Awards will be presented.

A reception for the show is planned from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18.

Reindeer Run/Walk: The fifth annual Reindeer 5K Run/Walk is set for 8 a.m. on Nov. 24. A kids’ fun run is scheduled at 9 a.m.

Holiday Bazaar: A holiday bazaar is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 24.
