Anna police make drug arrest; respond to nearly 240 calls
The Anna Police Department made a drug-related arrest and responded to nearly 240 calls during June.
The department's activities were highlighted in a news release, a monthly activity report and an investigative case report issued by Anna Police Chief Mike Hunter.
Drug-Related Arrest
Hunter reported that on the evening of June 26, the Anna Police Department responded to a noise complaint at a local apartment complex.
When officers made contact with the tenants, they allegedly could smell burned cannabis inside the apartment.
Hunter said that after further investigation, officers located a large amount of marijuana, LSD and hallucinogenic mushrooms inside the apartment.
A 24-year-old male subject was arrested for possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and various other drug charges.
Activity Report
The Anna police chief released the following statistics in the department's monthly activity report for June:
Number of calls requiring response, 238. Number of walk-in requests, 99. Number of traffic stops, 65. Number of crashes handled, 10. Number of vehicles impounded, 7. Number of motorist assists, 13.
Number of criminal arrests, 34. Number of traffic citations, 52. Number of written warnings, 31. Number of code violations cited, 24. Number of miles patrolled, 3,851. Hours worked, 1,004.
