Annabelle Festival slated
The third annual Annabelle Street Festival is planned Saturday, June 11, in downtown Anna.
The festival is held to celebrate the Annabelle hydrangea plant. The plants were discovered in 1910 near Anna.
For the festival East Davie Street in downtown Anna is scheduled to be closed to traffic from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Vendors will be selling food, drinks, antiques and crafts.
The Anna-Jo Garden Club will be selling potted Annabelle hydrangeas, the native shrub for which the festival is named.
Live music will be presented throughout the festival. Some of the bands which are scheduled to perform are the Anderson family, Mays and Bradley, Free Range Chicks, Southern Soul and Steve Hornbeak.
Children's activities and horse and buggy rides are planned.
For children, there will be a bounce house, an Anna fire truck, balloon animals and face painting.
