Community food bank garden focus of meeting

The public is invited to attend an informational and planning meeting about a community food bank garden in Anna.

The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. June 22 at Stinson Memorial Library in Anna.

Organizers said that the new community food bank garden is located on the grounds of Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center (near the tourism building) in Anna.

The food bank provides support for more than 300 families per month.

The community garden is designed to add fresh, local produce to the food which is offered to those who utilize the food bank. 

Two raised beds have been built and planted this spring. 

Those involved with the project said that volunteers, supporters and business sponsors are needed to maintain and grow this project.
