Pickleball courts to be dedicated

The City of Anna invites the public to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of a pickleball court conversion project at the city park.

The ceremony to dedicate the new courts is set for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The city was approached by pickleball enthusiasts about converting one of the tennis courts at the Anna City Park into four dedicated pickleball courts.

“The community spoke and we listened, making this a joint effort of both parties,” city administrator Dori Bigler stated in a news release.

The project was funded by the city, local businesses and individuals.

“The City of Anna is dedicated to listening to the community and working together to make this community better,” Bigler added.
