Quilt show planned at Egyptian School
The Alexander County Tourism Group is planning to present “Country Quilts and Memories” at Egyptian School in Tamms on Dec. 1 beginning at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
The event also is scheduled to feature vendors at a Christmas bazaar and a children’s bazaar.
Children will be able to purchase small gifts for family and friends.
Quilts which will be on display will showcase the skills of local quilters and include stories.
Awards will be presented for best of show, best machine-quilted and best hand-quilted quilt honors.
A program is planned at 1:30 p.m. that will focus on the quilts. Drawings also are planned.
The cost to enter a quilt in the show is $5, which organizers said will cover costs of the event.
Quilts are scheduled to be hung from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30. Vendors also can set up at that time. Vendors also can set up starting at 7 a.m. on Dec. 1. There will be a $5 charge for vendors.
