Thank you!

We take this opportunity to extend a thank you to two members of the Union County community.

Words of gratitude go out to Dave Tellor and Judy Lyerla.

Mr. Tellor unexpectedly resigned as mayor of the City of Anna last week. His resignation was announced at a regular meeting of the Anna City Council. His resignation ended many years of service to the City of Anna.

Judy Lyerla chose not to seek reelection after serving for 28 years as treasurer for the City of Jonesboro. She will be honored for her service during an open house scheduled during the noon hour on Friday, May 15, at Jonesboro City Hall.

Mr. Tellor and Mrs. Lyerla each represent a special group of people here in Union County. They are the people who are willing to serve their community as elected officials.

Running for public office is a special and unique challenge. Serving in public office may be even more daunting than the campaign to be elected to the post. To all of those who are willing to serve, we say thank you.
