Anna VFW post announces Veterans' Day parade winners

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of Anna has announced winners from the 2009 Veterans’ Day parade.

The parade was Nov. 11 in Anna.

Winners in the various categories follow:

Senior marching band: Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, first. Cobden High School, second. Shawnee High School at Wolf Lake, third.

Junior marching band: Anna Junior High School, first. Cobden, second. Dongola, third.

School color guard: SIU ROTC, first.

Senior  banner team: Cobden, first. A-JCHS, second. Dongola, third.

Pom pons: Jonesboro, first.

Veterans’ float: Illinois Veterans Home, Anna, first. Jackson County DAV, second.

Nonveterans’ float: IBEW, first. Last Ride hearse, second.

Boy Scouts: Troop 851, first. Troop 46, second.

Girl Scouts: Troop 8546, first. Troop 8560, second. Troop 8531, third.

4-H: Union County, first.

Antique cars: Leonard Sadler, first. Rod Cash, second. Dan Thompson, third.

Antique farm equipment: Jobe Farms, first. Jeff Palmer, second. Justin Hill, third.

Modified car: Southern Counties Autos Unlimited, first.
