Donna Altenberger

Donna Altenberger, age 83, of Karnak passed away at 6:13 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Baptist Health in Paducah.

 Donna was born May 17, 1941 in Karnak.

 Donna and Roger Altenberger were united in marriage on Dec. 24, 1958.  

She was the owner and operator of Donnas Shoe Place in Karnak for over a decade.  Donna was a believer, she attended the Pentecostal Church and the Living Hope Fellowship Church in Karnak.  Donna was an excellent cook, she enjoyed gardening, camping and reading.  If she had something on her mind she would let you know it.

 She is survived by her husband, Roger Altenberger; her daughter, Julia Nutty of Paducah; a host of nieces and nephews.

 Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Edd and Versia Moorhead Howell;  her brother, Jerry Dale Howell.

 Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Donna Howell Altenberger will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.  Rev. Lonnie Adams will be officiating.  The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until the service hour.  Interment will follow at the Cypress Cemetery in Cypress, Ill..
