Anita Maze

Anita Maze, 85, of Anna, died on Jan. 3, 2019, at Integrity Healthcare in Anna. 

She was born on May 14, 1933, in Union County, the daughter of Benjamin Clay and Amanda Caroline Edmonds Sadler.  

She married Riley Leroy “Tee” Maze on April 22, 1950, in Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Oct. 17, 1991.

Mrs. Maze retired from Southern Illinois University, where she worked as a cook for many years.  She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church near Cobden. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Theresa) Maze of Cobden; grandchildren Jay (Silvia) Young of O’Fallon, Mo., and Kristi (Josh) Lofton of Cobden; seven great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Kaelyn Boie, Elena and Matteo Young, and Landon, Reese and Finley Lofton; numerous nieces and nephews whom she thought of as her children; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Tee Maze; seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were at noon Monday, Jan. 7, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with Pastor Carl Dillow officiating. Interment was in Casper Cemetery near Anna.
