Barbara Jean Penrod

Barbara Jean Penrod, 87, of Anna, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, at her home. 

She was born on May 25, 1934, in Anna, the daughter of Harry and Millie Bartsch Cruse.

 She married Joe Penrod on Oct. 25, 1959.

Mrs. Penrod is survived by her husband, Joe Penrod of Anna; a son, Ricky Joe (Leslie) Penrod of Dongola; grandchildren Michaela Sizemore, Colton Penrod and Mia DeHarpart; great-grandchildren Ella Helton, Drake Penrod, Kimber and Piper Sizemore; a brother, Carl Cruse of Elgin; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Allen Lee Penrod; siblings Grace Clark, Mary Moreland, Charles Cruse and Hellen Reish.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed playing Uno and checkers any time she had them over. 

Graveside funeral services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at the Anna Cemetery. Interment immediately followed.
