Barry Eugene Fowler

Barry Eugene Fowler, 82, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at his home. 

He was born on June 20, 1936, in Union County, the son of John Theodore and Gracie Muriel Newman Fowler. 

He married Judy Sadler on April 4, 1970, in Jonesboro.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Fowler of Jonesboro; a daughter, Lori Williams (Collin Crews) of Balcom; three grandchildren, Jade (Josh) Murray, Morgan (Austin) Caldwell and Gabe Williams; two great-grandsons, Matthew Murray and Lane Murray; and one great-granddaughter on the way, Vivian Caldwell; nieces and nephews; other family and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by one sister, Rosalind Lucille Walker.

He served in the U.S. Marines Corps. He loved playing the guitar and singing. He was always a happy and jolly person who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He worked for Lewis Bakeries for over 20 years in maintenance.

Funeral services for Barry Eugene Fowler were at noon Friday, Sept. 14, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. John Cripps officiating. 

Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery near Dongola. Military rites were conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW of Anna and the U.S. Marine Corps funeral honor guard. 

Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
