Betty A. Tutt
Betty A. Tutt, 91, of Anna, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, in Jonesboro.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1931, in Cobden, the daughter of Carl Trammel and Alice Cross Trammel.
She married Hafton Tutt in 1951. Hafton was a widower, so she became a stepmother to his four children, and later had two more children with Hafton. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She worked at Mowell’s Grocery Store, the Florsheim Heel Factory and finally in the cafeteria at Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. She also helped her mother operate a shelter care home for many years.
After retirement, her strong work ethic kicked in, so she took a part-time job at Hardee’s restaurant.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, where she volunteered in the kitchen and nursery over the years. She loved to fish, quilt and cook.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all four of her stepchildren, Billy Dean Tutt, Jesse Tutt, Emily Reynolds and Nancy Reynolds; by a grandson, Michael Reynolds; her sister, Ruth Steck; and her brother, Donald Trammel.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Tutt-Hooker (Clay Driscoll) of Anna; a son, Jeff (Karen) Tutt of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren Abram and Nathan Hooker, Juliana Tutt, Lia Driscoll, Debbie (Jerry) Thurston, Mitch (Terri) Reynolds, Kim (Chris) Winiger and Lisa (Clint) Wallace; and 16 great-grandchildren (she was also a great-great-grandmother); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro. Ivan Ryan officiated. Interment followed in Jonesboro Cemetery.
Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
