Bill Chaney

Bill Chaney, 58, of Anna, and formerly of Atwood, Tenn., and Joliet, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Nov. 5, 1966, in Chicago, the son of Billy Roger and Betty Lou Skeens Chaney.

Mr. Chaney was a proud Teamster. He loved to ride his Harley, listening to music and singing. He was a social butterfly and enjoyed all of his friends.

Survivors include his life partner, Sandy Wood; sisters Vickie Flores, Jule Ernest, Tammy Berry, Trena Stough, Tiffany James and Joy Belder; brothers Jamie Chaney and Jason Chaney; children Josh Brkoric, Jimmy Stover and Breeanne Hohenwater; bonus children Kenneth Joe Dowdy Jr., Tiffany Lampley, Joshua Dowdy, John Dowdy and Valley Dowdy; and many grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Roger and Barb Chaney and J.D. Taylor and Betty Lou (Skeens) Taylor.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Pastor Lupe Lopez officiating.

Interment followed the funeral service at the Anna City Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the family.
