Catherine ‘Cathy’ Dailey

Cathy Dailey, 78, of Jonesboro, died on Aug. 24, 2018, at her home. 

She was born in Ware on May 31, 1941, in her home, delivered by her grandmother Smith. She was born the daughter of Curtis Lee and Francis Irene Smith Hancock. 

She married Bill J. Dailey on Sept. 21, 1957, in Tennessee. Bill and Cathy shared four children together, Rick, Curtis, Donnie and Tammy.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Joe Dailey of Jonesboro; a son, Donnie Dailey; a daughter, Tammy (Carlos) McKinney of Jonesboro; grandchildren Jennifer Land, Miranda (Mathew) Morgan, Amanda (Chris) Jerrell, Natalie Dailey, Donnie “Bub” (Melissa) Dailey, Zeke Baggott and Kiel McKinney; great-grandchildren Madilyn Hinkle, Abigail, Xailex and Keivin Morgan, Christopher and Maycee Jerrell, Kiley Dailey, Kaitlyn Starr, Daulton Mixen, Ali, Eleison and Zella Baggott; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and by two sons, Rick J. Dailey and Curtis L. Dailey.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was a special person who made many friends in her time here on earth. Her family said that if you had the opportunity to know her, then you know she could light up a room with her sweet personality and her infectious smile. She had a heart of gold and truly loved her family and her friends too.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Randy Wright officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
