Charlene Potts
Charlene Potts, 71, of Anna, and formerly of Burbank, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Mo.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1947, in Sylacauga, Ala., the daughter of Charles and Frances Pitts Brayley.
She married Kenneth J. Potts on Oct. 15, 1988, and they enjoyed 30 years together.
She graduated high school from Chicago Vocational in 1966. She worked in accounting for Sam’s Club in Tinley Park.
She was a member of the Garden Club and Union County Home Community Education group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and loved gardening. Ken considered her as his “Best Friend.”
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth J. Potts of Anna; children Kenny Potts of Worth, Kelly Potts of Burbank, Joe Harris of Steger, Kamie Potts of Vernon Hills, Kerry (James) Meade of Palos Heights, Rick Harris of Chicago and Alexis Harris of Anna; 10 grandchildren; a brother, James (Beverly) Brayley of Concord, N.C.; a sister, Evelyn Inskeep of Virginia Beach, Va.; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by a granddaughter, Jessica Harris.
The Rosary was prayed at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro.
Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Anna, with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment was in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
Memorials can be made to Evelyn’s House and will be accepted at the funeral home.
