Charlie O. Sharp

Charlie O. Sharp, 90, of Olmsted, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Mr. Sharp was born on Nov. 13, 1931, in Grand Chain, Illinois, the son of Albert Peter and Lucy Dorrance Sharp.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Olmsted United Methodist Church, a member of the Olmsted Volunteer Fire Department and was retired from Nestle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, David Sharp, on Dec. 8, 2018; a son-in-law, JC Neely; a sister; and four brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Nancy Sharp of Olmsted; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marci Sharp of Olmsted; daughters Cindy Neely of Hollow Rock, Tenn., and Pam Dennis of Olmsted; a daughter-in-law, Starla Sharp of Olmsted; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. His son, Pastor Mike Sharp, and Pastor Dave Estep officiated. A flag presentation followed by the U.S. Army honor guard. 

Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted.
