David Hartline

David Hartline, 44, of Cobden, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. 

He was born on Oct. 22, 1973, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Curtis “Corky” and Lou Ann Shadowens Hartline.

He is survived by his children, Alaina, Jenna, Connor and Colby Hartline all of Cobden; his mother, Lou Ann Hartline of Cobden; two brothers, Steve (Lisa) Hartline of Anna and Danny (Charlotte) Hartline of Cobden; a friend, Rhonda Dean and her children, Austin Naeger, Jase Hutchason, Mason Dean and Gage Meyer, all of Cobden; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father. 

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cobden. He worked for the federal prison system in Marion and later the Union County Ambulance Service as an EMT. He currently worked as a painter. 

He was a life member of the Coal Belt Fire Association, a former member of the Cobden Lions Club and was retired from the Cobden Fire Department. 

He was an official with IHSA and a member of the Southern Illinois Egyptian Officials Association. 

Memorial services were at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the First Baptist Church of Cobden, with Pastor Ed Falgout and Pastor Matt Hartline officiating. 

Memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church of Cobden youth group. Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
