Donald Wayne Lamb Sr.
Donald Wayne Lamb Sr., 77, of Rochelle, and formerly of Alexander County, died on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1938, in McClure, the son of Henry and Melissa Porter Lamb.
He married Clyda McBride on Sept. 15, 1956, in Cairo.
He faithfully served the Lord as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle. He retired from Del Monte Corp.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Eugene and Gerald; sisters Ruby Miller, Georgia Lovell, Leona Marshall and Isabel Jordan; and an infant granddaughter, Tara Lynne Lamb.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Clyda Lamb; his children, Wayne (Sally) Lamb, Bryan Lamb, Kevin Lamb, Keith (Penny) Lamb, Karen (John) Lamb-Collins and Kent (Tina) Lamb; grandchildren Courtney (Diego), Alyssa (Ryan), Nick (Ashleigh), Tiffany (Kevin), Jared, Derek, Taylor, Payton, Mason, Johnice and Mandi; great-grandchildren Emma, Kade, Dax and Charlie; a sister, Elsie Lingle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, June 13, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle, with the Rev. Dr. James Tilley officiating. Burial followed the service in Trinity Memory Gardens.
